frequently asked questions
is a bridal trial required?
A trial is included in your bridal makeup package. This gives us a chance to meet and vibe before your big day as well as try out the look you’re thinking for wedding day.
how long is a trial & where at?
Bridal trials usually take around an hour and a half. This gives us plenty of time to have a consultation, chat about details, and apply your makeup! Your appointment will be at Hartwood Salon in North Liberty.
What should i bring to my trial?
Come with clean + moisturized skin as well as have some inspo photos of makeup you like. Photos of makeup artists’ work on instagram is always preferred over Pinterest. Wearing a white top with a similar neckline to your dress is always a good idea as well!
When should I schedule my trial?
I recommend getting your bridal trial booked 4-6 weeks before your date if possible! Trials are only scheduled Tuesday-Thursdays.
how long is each service on wedding day
Please allow one hour for the brides glam and 45 minutes for bridesmaids, moms, and guests. Flower girls take about 15 minutes.
What is your maximum number of services?
Depending on the timing of your wedding morning, I can do up to eight services before you would either need to hire a second MUA or I could look into bringing an assistant for an additional cost.
do you do airbrush makeup?
I do not use an airbrush machine, no! I apply foundation with brushes + a beauty blender.
How do touch ups work throughout the day?
I will leave you + your girls a touch up kit including lip gloss, oil blotting sheets, powder, etc. If you’d like me to stay past completion time for touch ups all evening, I would be happy to! Cost of staying past completion time is $100/ hr.
What makeup brands do you use?
I carry a variety of brands in my kit - a few of my favorites are Charlotte Tilbury, MAC, NARS, Rare Beauty, Haus Labs, Makeup by Mario, and Natasha Denona.
